More of a question, I have a whistling kettle and its got a bad case of limescale I can't get it clean is there anything that will work??

use white tooth paste with baking soda in it to clean stainless steel works great leaves it shiny just rub on let set a little clean off with plain water works good.i do it to my stainless steal tea kettle it get's nasty i use toothpaste to clean it right up looks like new again.

If you've got excess water after you've finished with the kettle then try and pour it down the overflow of your sink. It'll help keep it clear and make sure any bad smells don't linger

you can use vinegar in your kettle as well - boil it and it will loosen off

To descale your kettle mix a teaspoon of citric acid (available from your local pharmacy) with a pint of warm water, leave in the kettle for 3 hours and it should be clean as a whistle

To descale a kettle buy 1 litre of lemon juice, some bicarbonate of soda, a bottle of vinegar. Then buy some kettle descaler and put the rest in a cupboard. Works a treat.

to descale your kettle, pour some malt vinegar and water (50/50) over the element of your kettle, and boil the kettle
